A Premrest installation isn't just labour. It's the full project envelope - measurement, prep, install, finishing, and handover - delivered by a team that does it every day.
Site measurement and shop drawings
A Premrest project lead measures every room, marks lines and transitions, and produces a shop drawing showing tile quantities, layout direction, and over-order allowance. The drawing comes to you for sign-off before any product is ordered.
Removal of existing flooring
Old broadloom, underlay, or vinyl is lifted, rolled, and disposed of. Existing ceramic, polished concrete, or timber substrates are inspected for suitability and noted in the quote.
Subfloor preparation and levelling
Cracks filled, lippage levelled, surface degreased, and primed where required. This is the single biggest determinant of how the finished floor looks - and where most lookalike contractors cut corners.
Tile installation in ashlar layout
Pressure-sensitive adhesive applied to manufacturer specification. Tiles laid in brick-bond pattern with consistent pile direction across every tile, edges trimmed against a straight-edge for a continuous appearance.
Transitions, edges, and finishing
Aluminium or hardwood transition strips at doorways, neat scribed cuts against walls and skirtings, the floor vacuumed and ready for furniture and occupation.
Walk-through and handover
Final inspection with you on site, any defect punch-list cleared on the spot, spare tiles labelled and stored where you direct for future repairs.
Nothing on the punch-list goes home with the installer. The job is done when you say it's done.

Measurement
On-site measurement in metro Melbourne, Sydney, or Brisbane. For multi-property briefs or projects with existing architectural plans we work from supplied drawings to issue an indicative quote.
Itemised quote
A written quote breaking out the supplied product cost, the installation rate, and any site-specific extras (existing-floor removal, levelling, transitions, after-hours access). No bundled lump sums - everything itemised.
Confirmation and scheduling
Once approved, dates are locked in. Hospitality projects can be phased across low-occupancy windows so the property stays in inventory throughout. Most installs run 2-5 days for a single property.
Installation
The Premrest team arrives with all materials, tools, and adhesive on site. The product is installed to manufacturer specification, with daily progress updates if you'd prefer not to be on site every day.
Walk-through and handover
We walk the floor with you room-by-room, clear any defects on the spot, and hand over labelled spare tiles and the maintenance pack. The 15-year manufacturer warranty starts from handover.

How quickly can you start?
Lead time is typically 2-4 weeks from quote acceptance to first day on site, depending on the property size and how quickly tiles can be drawn from stock or ordered in. Hospitality projects with strict open dates can usually be accommodated with earlier notice - flag the deadline at enquiry.
Can installation be phased across low-occupancy windows for hotels and motels?
Yes - this is one of the strengths of modular tile over broadloom. Our installers can return on the same days each week or month and lay one or more rooms per visit, matching your booking calendar. The property never needs to close as a whole.
Do you handle stairs, edges, and transitions to other floor types?
Yes. Stair installations are quoted on a per-flight basis. Aluminium or hardwood transition strips at doorways and at the boundary with timber, tile, or vinyl floors are included in the site-specific extras line of every quote.
What if my project is outside Melbourne, Sydney, or Brisbane?
We quote out-of-area projects on a project basis - regional Victoria, NSW, and QLD, plus Geelong, Newcastle, Gold Coast, and the Sunshine Coast are common. Travel and accommodation are itemised separately. For other states or remote sites, the supply-only path is always available, and we can recommend trusted local installers where we have relationships.
Is the installation labour warranted?
Yes. Premrest provides a 12-month workmanship warranty on installation labour, separate from the 15-year manufacturer wear warranty on the tiles themselves. If a seam lifts or a transition fails inside that period, we return and rectify at no cost.
Can I buy tiles from you and arrange my own installer?
Absolutely. The supply-only path is always available - the same product, the same warranty, no requirement to use Premrest installers. Many trade-savvy homeowners and self-managing landlords go this route, and we send a written installation guide with every supply-only order.
